Tama, Iowa woman dies in Highway 30 crash

(TAMA COUNTY, Iowa)  A Tama woman was killed in a traffic crash on Highway 30 Thursday morning, in Tama County.   

The Iowa State Patrol says 64-year-old Charlene Rosenfelder was driving east on Highway 30 near RR Avenue shortly before 10 o'clock, when a westbound semi, crossed the center line into the eastbound lane.  

The State Patrol says  Rosenfelder swerved onto the shoulder, but was unable to avoid being hit by the truck.

The truck driver, 40-year-old James Novotny of Exeter, Nebraska was injured and taken to Marshalltown hospital.   The crash remains under investigation.
