Central Iowa small aircraft crash probe underway

(POLK COUNTY, Iowa)   The F-A-A is investigating the crash of a small aircraft yesterday afternoon in rural northeast Polk County.

The Pilot, 43-year-old Jason Beckman, suffered leg injuries, and cuts on his arms.   

He was flown to a Des Moines hospital for treatment.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the aircraft had taken off from a residence northwest of Farrar yesterday, and traveled 150-yards before crashing in a cornfield.
