Iowa State Patrol: Ice factored into fatal I-80 crash

(CASS COUNTY, Iowa)   The Iowa State Patrol says the driver of a 2008 Ford F-250 pick-up, towing a fifth-wheel camper lost control on an icy I-80 bridge this (Friday) morning, in Cass County.

The patrol says 59-year-old Scott Hawke of Rigby, Idaho was eastbound, when he jack-knifed into the median, hit a guard rail, and rolled the truck.  His truck came to rest in westbound traffic.  The camper came to rest on the guardrail in the median.   

Hawke died at the scene.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened around 9:20 this morning, near mile marker 72,west of Adair.
