Any way you slice it, Fleetwood Mac is one of the most well-known and successful bands in music history.
While that is a fact, they only have one song that reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in their prime. Now that song is making a comeback on the charts thanks to this tweet:
The Twitter user @bottledfleet posted a video of The Golden Girls, an all-female dance team from Alcorn State University, dancing at a football game with "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac dubbed over the top.
The video has sparked a huge resurgence in the #1 hit as it has been introduced to an audience who typically doesn't delve into a library of classic rock. As of Friday morning, "Dreams" is listed at #14 on the Billboard Rock Songs Chart and given this week's "Hot Shot Debut."
If you've somehow missed hearing the song in full, here is a full version from YouTube:
Maybe this recent discovery by a younger, social media-driven generation will not only keep "Dreams" on the chart, but introduce the rest of Fleetwood Mac's incredible catalog of music to those who were blissfully unaware of the timeless sounds of Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, and John McVie.
