The Department of Homeland Security in cooperation with the West Des Moines Police Department will be offering a community safety and awareness training on April 26th, 2018 from 8:00-noon. The training will be held at Valley Church on Fuller Road, in West Des Moines.
This training will be greatly beneficial to businesses, schools and churches. During the training attendees will work in small groups to increase their awareness on several topics to include: active shooter/armed intruder, bomb threats, suspicious packages and white powder incidents.
The lead presenter will be Dr. Pitzen of Homeland Security. Dr. Pitzen is currently assigned as a Protective Security Advisor in Region VII, with the mission of identifying and protecting critical infrastructure.
