Eastern Iowa Honor Flight lands in Washington D.C.

(WASHINGTON D.C.)  Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa today (Tuesday) met veterans from Eastern Iowa visiting the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice, including the World War II, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials, as well as the Arlington National Cemetery.   The 99 veterans were on the first Eastern Iowa Honor Flight of the year, and the 31st Honor Flight to originate from the Eastern Iowa Airport.

“The Honor Flight program gives veterans and their families the opportunity to come together in fellowship, see their memorial and pay respect to their fellow brothers and sisters in Arms,” Grassley said. “It was an honor to spend time with these courageous Americans.”
