West Des Moines banker sentenced for embezzlement

DES MOINES, Iowa-  A West Des Moines man's been sentenced to 18-months in prison for bank embezzlement.

Prosecutors say Brian Madison stole 259-thousand dollars from his employer, TruBank, between 2011 and 2016,  by moving cash from the teller drawer he used into a teller drawer which was not monitored.

He then modified cash count, so the missing money would go unnoticed.

Madison's been ordered to pay 259-thousand dollars in restitution and serve five years of supervised release after his prison term.   He's also been ordered to pay $100 to the Crime Victim's Fund.

The fraud was detected during a cash audit, due to a corporate merger.
