DES MOINES, Iowa -
A Des Moines Facebook group includes a post from a woman who says her parents live near the site of the shooting and stayed with the young man as he died, before medics could arrive.
Police say the victim is 20-year-old Josue D. Alonzo, Jr.
Police were called to East 30th and Garfield around 10:20 p.m. Friday because of gunfire reports. Witnesses told dispatchers there was a man down in the street..
Alonzo's death is the city's 3rd homicide of the year.
