WAVERLY, Iowa -A seven week old baby is recovering after being hit in the head by a softball at a game in Waverly, north of Waterloo.

Family reports on Facebook Friday that the baby is having seizures this morning so doctors are increasing anti-seizure medications.

Baby McKenna Hovenga was airlifted to Mayo Clinic where she is being treated for brain bleeds, seizures,  and a skull fracture.

Mom Kassy Hovenga says she was holding the baby, sitting on the bleachers, watching the men's softball game when suddenly a ball flew over the fence and hit her and her baby.

Hovenga's husband was playing in the game.

Baby McKenna was airlifted to Mayo Clinic, where her mother says she is doing better but has been having seizures from the pressure on her brain.

Hovenga says the baby was seizure free for most of the day, but Thursday night the family says she had a seizure that lasted nine minutes, and again Friday morning, they report more seizures.
