Talk about creating an awkward moment to avoid an awkward moment: Monica Lewinsky says she was uninvited to a Town & Country magazine event after Bill Clinton joined the line-up.
“dear world: please don’t invite me to an event (esp one about social change) and –then after i’ve accepted– uninvite me because bill clinton then decided to attend/was invited. it’s 2018. emily post would def not approve,” she tweeted Wednesday, referring to the late etiquette expert.
Lewinsky also alleged that the mag offered her a story in exchange for the diss.
She was bumped from the magazine's annual Philanthropy Summit Wednesday after Clinton was scheduled to introduce teen gun control activist Emma Gonzalez, according to the Huffington Post.
The magazine is not only hoping to avoid an awkward meeting - I'm sure these events are attended by liberals who excused Clinton's behavior toward women - or even castigated his accusers - because they supported his political agenda.
This is why I look upon Hollywood's attempt to regain the moral high ground on sexual misconduct with disdain. So many enabled this type of behavior or ignored it and now want to preach at America. Remember, when Harvey Weinstein's horrid actions became public, he promised to pay penance by being a better liberal. Why do you suppose he thought that would be an acceptable peace offering?
