Sometimes landing the job of your dreams comes down to standing out in a crowd. It’s easy to get lost in a sea of resumes, but one job seeker found a unique way to get the attention of the company she wanted to work for.
Jade Delaney had been having a hard time getting her foot in the door with an advertising agency after graduating college, so she tried to come up with a way to get herself seen by people in the industry. After attending an advertising event where she heard about a “Fearless Girl” sculpture on Wall Street in New York City - and hearing people there talking about the campaign, she knew what she needed to do.
She painted her clothes gold, had a makeup artist paint her gold and headed to the McCann offices, where she stood outside posed like the iconic statue and drew a crowd. Her plan worked, the McCann people liked her determination and offered her a month-long gig to start, which will hopefully turn into a full-time job.
