A 16 year old from Omaha, Nebraska drowned in a Council Bluffs lake Memorial Day.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says it happened in the swimming area near the Lake Manawa beach around 1:15pm.
The DNR says Edgar Garcia went under the water and didn't come back up. Officials believe that Garcia was a non-experienced swimmer. An autopsy will be conducted and the swimming area of Lake Manawa will likely remain closed the rest of this week.
