City of Des Moines - FREE Storm Debris disposal tomorrow & June 9th

The City of Des Moines is encouraging residents recovering from the recent severe thunderstorm to bring storm debris to the Metro Waste Authority Compost Center (1601 Harriet Street) on Saturday, June 2 and 9 from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This service is available to all Des Moines residents free of charge; proof of residency is required. Additionally, for residents whose regularly scheduled trash pick-up day is Thursday, branches that are properly bundled will be picked up, free of charge, on Thursday, June 7. Tree limbs and brush placed for collection as yard debris may be securely tied in bundles not larger than 48 inches long and 18 inches in diameter and weighing not more than 40 pounds. Compost It!® stickers will not be required on that scheduled pick-up date.
