WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - A 25-million dollar sports complex is being planned for West Des Moines.

The Iowa Ice Sports Foundation announced is behind the plan to turn 60 acres across from DMACC West into hockey rinks, indoor playing fields, and more.

The city says residents will not be taxed to pay for the complex, instead the money will come from the hotel/motel tax, private fundraising, and a corporate sponsor.

WHO Channel 13 reports the West Des Moines City Council is expected to vote on the idea within the next two months.
