IOWA CITY, Iowa- Work continues on an $89-(M) million construction project at the University of Iowa's Kinnick Stadium. Crews have been working on a major upgrade to the seating area of the north end zone.
Construction Manager Michael Kerns, during an interview with www.hawkeyesports.com, explained that crews are right on schedule, and should have major work completed in August. Iowa's first home game is September 1st, against Northern Illinois University.
The project time frame, however, does not promise completion of upgrades of two things important to fans, upgraded restrooms and improvements to the permanent concession stands. Work on those areas will begin after the football season ends.
Kerns says portable concessions will be available on every level, during home football games. Portable restrooms will also be available on the lower level. Fans can also access restrooms in the north end of both the east and west concourses.
