Two people killed in separate eastern Iowa crashes

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating to separate fatal crashes, one Monday in Keokuk County, another today (Tuesday) in Cedar County.

The Patrol says one person was killed when a driver failed to stop at a Keokuk County intersection and was broadsided by a semi.   

The crash happened before 3:30 Monday afternoon on Highway 78 in Richland.  The person killed has been identified as 93-year-old Wayne Parsons of Richland.

One person was killed in a Cedar County crash around 9:45 this (Tuesday) morning.   The Iowa State Patrol says a Dodge Ram truck was northbound on Highway 38 in Cedar  County, north of I-80, when the driver suddenly attempted a U-turn in front of a northbound semi.   The semi T-boned the pick-up.  The victim's name has not been released yet.
