One in custody after Polk County, Iowa chase

POLK COUNTY, Iowa- A man led Polk County deputies on a chase this (Friday) afternoon, that started in Grimes and ended in Des Moines.   Polk County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Rich Blaylock tells WHO Radio News it started when deputies tried to stop the driver of a white van, who was driving recklessly.

The driver sped onto Highway 141, then east on I-80/35.  He then exited the interstate and went south on NE 14th Street, through Des Moines.  He then headed east on Euclid Avenue before losing control and going off the road near Euclid and the I-235 WB on-ramp. 

Deputies took 54-year-old-Kevin Jones into custody shortly at 3 p.m.   Jones is facing multiple charges. Authorities say the license plates on the van had been stolen out of Sioux City, and the van was reported stolen from Arizona.    Jones is wanted by police in multiple jurisdictions, more charges are pending.
