Grimes, Iowa man arrested after chase onto golf course

POLK COUNTY, Iowa-  A Grimes man's been arrested after deputies say he led them on a chase, that went north from Grimes, and onto the Jester Park Golf Course near Granger, causing minor damage.

Thirty-six-year-old Bryan Clark is charged with Eluding, O-W-I-2nd, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Criminal Mischief, Interference with Official Acts, and Assault while participating in a Felony, after the chase Saturday afternoon.

The  Polk County Sheriff's Office says deputies tried to pull over Clark's Jeep Liberty in Grimes around 2:30 p.m. Saturday for a possible OWI.   They say Clark refused to stop, and drove north on Highway 141, where he hit another vehicle, and continued to the Jester Park Golf Course,  damaging the 9th green.

Deputies say he then drove down an dead end street, and was taken into custody.

The course manager tells WHO Radio News there were some tire tracks on the green, but they were able to replace the sod and make the repairs quickly.
