Des Moines sports personality Larry Cotlar was killed last night in flash flooding.
According to police, they received a call around 8:50pm Saturday night about a van that had stalled at 50th and Twana in the rising flash flooding there. Once there, police were told that the occupants of the van had left and one of them had been swept away by the flood waters.
Around 12:38am Sunday morning, police say, they found the man, several blocks away from the original call. He's been identified as 66 year old Larry Cotlar.
Cotlar was a long-time sports broadcaster in Des Moines.
