Robert D. Ray, governor for 14 years in Iowa, will be at the state capitol for one last time on Thursday afternoon and evening. He will lie in state there from 5:30pm until 8:30pm for the public to pay their respects.
Iowans who wish to view the body are asked to arrive around 4pm, as there will be a security sweep prior to entering the capitol.
Ray's funeral will take place across the street from Drake University, where he attended and where he served for over a year as acting president and CEO. The service will be at 1pm at First Christian Church at 25th and University.
