Police release more details of Des Moines business shooting

DES MOINES, Iowa-  Des Moines Police detectives say a south-side business owner, who fired a hand-gun at an intruder Wednesday, fired at the ground, but the bullet bounced off the ground and hit Amund Haaarstad in the head, killing him.

Detectives say business owner Thomas Kraft spotted a burglar while checking security cameras from home.  Kraft went to the business at 14th and Army Post Road, and confronted the burglar.  Kraft says the burglar threatened to kill Kraft.   No charges are going to be filed in the case.
