(Des Moines)-- Des Moines police say they've arrested the 17 year old father for the first degree murder of his eight month old girl.
Friday around 4:35pm police say the girl, Raija Straight, was taken to Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries. The next evening the child died.
About 2am Sunday, the girl's father, 17 year old Jayden Straight turned himself in to police. Sgt. Paul Parizek says Jayden was also charged with child endangerment resulting in death.
There's no word if the case was waived from juvenile to adult court.
