DES MOINES, Iowa- An Iowa-based non-profit organization, well-known for it's international relief efforts, is helping those affected by the flash flood in Des Moines. GoServ Global's Domestic Disaster Relief program is concentrating on parts of Polk County hit hard by flash flooding earlier this month.
The Eagle Grove, Iowa-based organization says it has worked at retired woman's home, which had a foot of water in the basement. GoServ Global says volunteers were able to clean out the woman's basement, remove damaged drywall, and deal with mold issues.
GoServ Global also helped a family of five who had up to four feet of water inside their house.
