Iowa: Flash floods have caused $16 million in damages

DES MOINES, Iowa-  Storms and flooding in June and this month, have caused 16-(M) million dollars in damages to Iowa infrastructure.

Joyce Flinn of Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Mangement says 33-counties have been impacted by flash flooding.  She says federal disaster assessment teams are here now.

A federal disaster declaration would allow  funding to fix infrastructure, it also includes individual assistance, and low interest loans from the Small  Business  Administration.
