Another fun day on Van and Bonnie in the Morning today! Emery Songer, who is our producer (and flew in the hot air balloon yesterday) did double duty and was our designated Bonnie. He got to see just how many people were listening to his hot air balloon flight live on the air yesterday when we gave away 2 balloon flights to listeners. They had to have been listening yesterday to hear where and when he landed. The phone lines rang most of the morning, even when it wasn’t time to call. That’s how badly people wanted the rides. Roger Riley was on with us live from RAGBAI. Former Des Moines Register columnist Chuck Offenburger was on the air with us talking about the death of Donald Kaul, who co-founded RAGRAI. And we discussed whether it was physically possible to complete an entire RAGBRAI route in one day, as one of our listeners claimed his friend has done 4 times.
