Happy Friday from “Van and Bonnie In The Morning! Bonnie is still on vacation and is scheduled to be back next Wednesday. Today Greg Edwards of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitor’s Bureau helped us all celebrate Friday. He filled us in on all the new things coming to Des Moines and talked about a huge local event that’s going on right now….the AAU Junior Olympics which is bringing in hundreds of thousands of people and millions of dollars to Des Moines from all over the world. Also the University of Iowa got ahold of me (Van) a few days ago and we’ve arrange to have Athletic Director Gary Barta with us for part of a morning show during one of our broadcasts at the WHO Radio Crystal Studio at the Iowa State fair. Then yesterday they sent me this book, since Nile Kinnick and I both grew up in Adel and my parents knew him when they were kids.
