OTTUMWA, Iowa- An Ottumwa mother has admitted to police she killed her five-year-old daughter.
Twenty-two year old Kelsie Thomas confessed to police during an interview Thursday, July 26th. She was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder, and is in the Wapello County Jail.
Ottumwa Police were called to 127 North James Street, Thursday, July 19, 2018, at approximately 3:22 p.m. because of a 911 call reporting an unresponsive five year-old girl.
The child was transported to Ottumwa Regional Health Center where she was pronounced deceased.
Autopsy results are pending.
