200 leads followed so far in search for Mollie Tibbets

MONTEZUMA, Iowa  - The FBI, Iowa DCI and Poweshiek County Sheriff's Department held a joint press conference today on the search for Mollie Tibbetts.

There was no new information released, but Poweshiek County Sheriff Tom Kriegel did talk about the search itself.

"On any given day, up to 30, 40 investigators are working on this case."  Kriegel says.  "Thus far, in excess of 200 leads have been followed up on.  Searches have included ground, air, and K9s."

The 20-year-old University of Iowa student was least seen two weeks ago Wednesday.

The head agent from the Omaha FBI and an agent from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation also spoke, but are being careful about what information they release to the public to protect the investigation.

"We understand that people want to know details about the investigation."  Kevin Winkler, with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said.

"However, we do not plan to provide findings or conclusions to leads at this time."
