Deputy arrests man after tussle in Woodward, Iowa

WOODWARD, Iowa-  An encounter with a man, found under a tree near Woodward yesterday (Tuesday) turned out to be a little tense for a Dallas County Sheriff's Deputy.

Dispatch was called about a man, who appeared to be unresponsive, near Highways 141 and 210.

The Sheriff's Office says the man appeared to be drunk, became argumentative, aggressive, and refused to follow the deputy's commands, and at one point tried to bite the deputy.

The deputy arrested 48-year-old Michael Sevier, for public intoxication,  disorderly conduct, interference with official acts, possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying weapons.

The Sheriff's Office says Sevier was carrying brass knuckles.
