DES MOINES, Iowa- Iowa State Fair officials say the estimated attendance broke last year's record, just barely, at 1,130, 260, just 189 people more than last year's record.
Officials say the numbers had been down a little, but they credit nice weather over the last weekend of the fair for a strong finish.
State Fair officials also credit Grandstand acts for pulling in a combined 89,558, a record high number. The concerts with the largest crowds were the Thomas Rhett and Reba McEntire concerts.
The Thomas Rhett concert pulled in a record 15,775 on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. The Reba McEntire concert pulled in 14,102. Florida Georgia Line pulled in 11,817 fans for the final show Sunday night.
