DES MOINES, Iowa- A suspect in a fatal hit and run in Des Moines last month, has been found in a Newton residence and arrested. Anthony McGilvrey has been arrested and charged with Driving While Barred and Leaving the Scene of an Accident causing death.
Police say McGilvery is accused of driving an SUV July 28th that struck a bicyclist on Martin Luther King Parkway. The bicyclist, 56-year-old Darrel Ford was taken to a Des Moines hospital, where he died.
Earlier this month, police found the SUV believed to have been involved in the case, hidden in rural Mitchevilleville. Police also arrested McGilvery's wife, Jennifer McGilvery, who's accused of allowing Anthony McGIlvery to operate the SUV, knowing he was not licensed to drive.
