Des Moines Police investigate shots fired near Hoover HS

DES MOINES, Iowa-  Des Moines Police are investigating a shots-fired case, near Hoover High School Friday night.

Shots rang out around 9:30, near the stadium on Aurora Avenue, forcing an abrupt end to the Hoover-North football game, as players and fans began to stream toward the exits.

Officers found shell casings in the parking lot just south of the football stadium.  There were no injuries, and no arrests have been made.   Witnesses reported a red sedan speeding away from the scene.

Hoover High School player Anoine Reed-Nash told Channel 13 WHO-TV there was just a couple minutes left to go in the game, when he about eight shots coming from outside the stadium on Aurora Avenue. 

He says he put on his helmet, and he and other players started heading toward the locker room.
