DES MOINES, Iowa - While east coast states are bracing for what may be the most expensive and damaging storm to ever hit the United States, back home in Iowa it's been, arguably the nicest stretch of weather all summer.
WHO-TV Meteorologist Jeriann Ritter says the hurricane storm system is pushing high air levels from the east coast towards Iowa and the Midwest.
That pressure from the east is stopping other weather systems from moving into our area from the west, where we usually get our changing weather systems.
Ritter says we're in a holding pattern for now, with sunshine and mild temperatures, at least through the weekend.
