AMES, Iowa- A top official in the U-S Department of Education was at DMACC's campus in Ames today (Thursday).
Deputy Education Secretary Mick Zais' visit is part of the agency's national "Back to School Tour" -aimed at identifying new and innovative ways to better serve students.
"Nationwide we have a shortage of skilled workers and it’s slowing our economy,” said Dr. Zais during his tour of DMACC’s Auto Technology, Building Trades and Culinary Labs at DMACC Ames Center. “Let’s help kids discover a career that best fits their interests and motivate them to pursue one of these skilled career paths,” advised Dr. Zais.
