Man, woman found dead in Lucas County, Iowa UPDATE

UPDATE:   The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is releasing some details about bodies of a man and woman found in Lucas Monday.  Authorities say 66-year-old Craig Dawson, a retired Des Moines Police Officer, called 911 to report he had shot and killed his wife, 64-year-old Julie Dawson.  Authorities arrived on scene and found the bodies of both Craig and Julie Dawson, dead of gunshot wounds.    The bodies are being taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies.

LUCAS, Iowa-   The bodies of a man and woman were found in a Lucas, Iowa home today (Monday).   Lucas County Sheriff's deputies were called to 14654 467th Street and were unable to make contact with anyone inside then residence, and once they went inside, they found two bodies.

The Lucas County Sheriff's Office has released a preliminary identification,  66-year-old Craig Dawson and 64-year-old Julie Dawson.

The bodies have been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office, for autopsies.  

The Sheriff's Office says it appears to have been an isolated incident and the public is not in any danger.

Authorities say it's an ongoing investigation being worked jointly by the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
