NEWTON, Iowa-   A Newton man is accused of beating and sexually abusing his ex-girlfriend earlier this month.

Twenty-one-year-old Donald Sutton III is charged with second degree sexual abuse.  A criminal complaint, obtained by our news partner, Channel 13 WHO-TV, states Sutton slammed his ex-girlfriend against a wall, choked her, put her in a headlock, and pressed a pocket knife into her stomach.

The complaint also states Sutton pushed her down the steps into a basement, and sexually abused her, and later threatened to kill her and her family if she reported all that happened.

Police arrested Sutton last week, he's out on bond and will be in court September 24th.
