Des Moines Police round up three south side burglary suspects

DES MOINES, Iowa- Des Moines Police were called to a residential neighborhood on the city's southwest side, just after Noon today (Tuesday) on a report of someone trying to kick their way into a home.

Police Sergeant Paul Parezik tells WHO Radio news witnesses gave police a good description of three suspects, who scattered when officers arrived.   Police were able to quickly catch the suspects in the 1900 block of Frazier Avenue, and found at least one handgun.

Sgt.  Parezik says one suspect refused to comply with officers' commands and was bitten by a Des Moines police dog.  That suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police say it appears the crime was not a random home burglary, but was targeted for some reason by the suspects.
