Van and Bonnie spoke with Chief David Lorenzen of the Iowa DOT about special traffic monitoring on Monday. Highway 163 East of Des Moines was specifically mentioned. The main emphasis of this monitoring is monitoring truck traffic and whether cars and trucks are interacting well together. There are several other areas across the state of Iowa that have heavy truck traffic that will be monitored as well on Monday with heavier than usual patrol cars.
