RED OAK, Iowa- Red Oak Police say a weekend family fight turned into a brawl involving a kitchen knife and a hammer. Police say 44-year-old Kain Rinehart stabbed his 38-year-old brother Luke several times in the back and side, then stabbed his mother Viola in the hand and abdomen.
Investigators say Luke Rinehart fought back with a hammer, hitting his brother in the head. All three were air-lifted to an Omaha hospital, and are expected to recover. Police say it's not clear what started the argument.
Police say Kain Rinehart may face Attempted Murder charges.
