Des Moines Police say man killed dog with bow and arrow

DES MOINES, Iowa - Des Moines police say a dog was shot and killed with a bow and arrow over the weekend.

Police were called to the 3900 block of 5th Avenue on reports of a dog attack on Saturday afternoon. Officers say the dog was attacking another dog, and the the owner tried to defend his dog by shooting the pit bull with a bow and arrow.

Police say the man hit the dog multiple times and the dog died.

Investigators tell WHO TV 13 they are still looking into the incident to determine whether charges will be filed in the case.
