URBANDALE, Iowa - Police are putting out a warning about fake currency being passed around recently
The Urbandale Police Department has seen an increase in these bills being passed as actual currency and are asking for the public to refuse to accept these bills these as payment.
The fake currency has Chinese symbols or other markings on the front and back of the bill.
Some have the words FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY on the front of the bill.
Others have these words in very small print that is difficult to notice, so check them carefully. These bills also have wording stating the bill is not legal or it is a replica.
Please look at your bills carefully and if you believe something to be suspicious contact your local police department.
