IOWA CITY, Iowa- University of Iowa tight end T.J. Hockenson has won the John Mackey Award, the first sophomore in history to do so.
The Chariton High School graduate has led Iowa with 46 receptions for 717 yards and six receiving touchdowns.
He's 7th among Iowa tight ends of all-time with nine touchdown receptions and one career rushing touchdown.
Hockenson will receive the ward Thursday, December 6th at 5 p.m. (CST) on ESPNU.
He will be just the second Iowa Hawkeye to receive the award. The first was Dallas Clark in 2002.
