Woman takes plea deal after trying to smuggle drugs in Pop Tart box

POLK COUNTY, Iowa — An Iowa woman has pleaded guilty to trying to smuggle meth into a prison in a box of Pop-Tarts. 

WHO Channel 13 reports thirty-year-old Linda Whitlach is being held at the Polk County Jail. Police say she tried to leave a box containing five grams of methamphetamine in a garbage can at Clarinda Correctional Facility back in August. 

According to a criminal complaint, her intent was to deliver it to an inmate.

According to her plea deal, she could spend up to 15 years in prison.
