DES MOINES, Iowa - Thirty-four-year-old Kyle Lincoln is charged with first-degree arson and second-degree theft following an early morning house fire on Monday. He was booked into Polk County Jail around 11 o'clock Monday night.

Des Moines police say that Lincoln started the fire intentionally following a domestic dispute at the home on the 1300-hundred block of E. 27th Court.

Police say Lincoln is the son of the homeowner. They also say he stole a family member's vehicle when leaving the scene.

The house is likely a complete loss, but two people were able to escape without getting hurt.

Flames were coming from all sides of the home when firefighters arrived shortly before 4:00 a.m.
