Some big steps yesterday for a young man who, along with his army, was our People's Choice Award winner at this year's Governor's Charity Steer Show at the Iowa State Fair. Tate Manahal was just 3 years-old when the accident occured and was our People's Choice Award winner After questions of whether doctors could save his legs and over 30 operations, Tate walked on his own for the first time in 16 months yesterday right out of the hospital just in time for the holidays. See the full story with video here. What a wonderful Christmas present for the Manahal family and it truly highlights the great work being done by so many folks, including the Iowa Cattlemen's Association, the Iowa Beef Industry Council, the Governor's office and more. So far, over $3 million dollars has been raised for the Ronald McDonald houses of Iowa and folks to help families be successful like the one we are seeing today. Merry Christmas!
