There may be some long lines at some stores today...as people return gifts given at Christmas.
We visited the return web pages for several of the major stores to see what's allowed and what's verboten:
Target says electronics and entertainment items that were bought from the first of November thru Christmas day can be returned for refund or exchange for up to 30 days from December 26, instead of Christmas day. 15 days for Apple products, excluding iPhone. There are some exceptions but we couldn't get into their returns policy website.
Online purchses from Amazon usually can be returned within 30 days of the receipt of the shipment. And Iowa law says if retailers don't accept returns they have to disclose it ahead of time.
