DES MOINES, Iowa - A drive-by shooting and crash in Des Moines late last night has a teen adult in critical condition.

Police say they saw two cars speeding away from a reported drive-by shooting, and say one of the cars forced the other one off the road.

After a short high-speed chase, officers say they arrested a man and a woman in one of the cars, and found a stolen handgun.

Those two suspects have now been charged.

Police say the second car had a serious rollover crash, ejecting an adult teen man from the car.

Police say he was also shot in the leg, and is in critical condition; the woman driving has minor injuries.

The Des Moines Police Department's traffic unit has charged the female driver, 18-year-old Aleah Johnson, with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, four counts of failure to obey a traffic control device, and failure to maintain control, and no insurance.

The passenger, 19-year-old Devon Williams, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, and trafficking stolen weapons.

The other vehicle crashed in the 1000 block of 29th Street.
