PLEASANT HILL, Iowa- Pleasant Hill Police are warning about a phone scam, in which a caller claims police have a warrant for their arrest, and they need to pay a fine, or they'll be arrested.
Police say the number which appears on caller ID spoofs the Pleasant Hill Police Department phone numbers: 515-265-1444 or 515-265-9984. The numbers are the real direct non-emergency line and the fax line for the Pleasant Hill PD.
Police say if you get a call like this, just hang up, it's a scam, the police do not call to try and collect money.
