POLK COUNTY, Iowa - The driver of a high-speed crash that killed two people on I-80 is now facing charges.
The Iowa State Patrol says 37-year-old Travis Gonzales was going 126 miles per hour with a blood alcohol level of .219 when he rear-ended another vehicle near the east mix-master.
Police say Gonzales' pickup truck rear-ended a car and killed 24-year-old Joshua Cox and 22-year-old Austin Gainuss on December 29th.
Gonzales faces numerous charges, including OWI and homicide by vehicle, and he's being held in the Polk County Jail.
