DES MOINES, Iowa- Two teens are facing attempted murder charges, after a man was beaten with a golf club and shot last weekend on Des Moines' east side.
Police have arrested 18-year-old Michaela McDowell, who's accused of using a golf club to hit a 23-year-old man in the head. Police say a 14-year-old male shot the man in the hand. The younger teen has been referred to juvenile court, and is facing attempted murder and carrying weapons. McDowell is in the Polk County Jail, bond is 100-thousand dollars.
Police Sergeant Paul Parizek says the charges stem from an incident early Sunday morning in an alley in the 600 block of Euclid Avenue. He says the victim did not cooperate with police, so it's not certain if he knew the suspects. Police say a witness saw the assault, and it was caught on video as well.
